3. Take side streets : Avoid main downtown city streets especially pedestrian occupied streets. Instead use side streets. These can be regular streets but you will also encounter a lot of one -way side streets. Taking side streets will involve more stopping at stop signs, but you will be sure to avoid signals and traffic jams.
4. Drive in the middle: Stick to the middle lane unless passing a slow or unsafe driver. People turning right or left usually end up jamming up the side lanes.
5. Use a bike or walk : Consider using an alternate form of transport during rush hour, like a bicycle, since you are accepting short distance offers in any case during these busy times. If using bicycle accept only super short distance offers in the downtown core, and of course you must live close to the downtown core in order to switch from car to bicycle.
